Recap

The Mingo Central Miners control the game from the onset defeating the Philip Barbour Colt 75-52 in the WV AA Boys High School Tournament at the Charleston Civic Center.

The #5 seeded Miners will face the #1 Fairmont Polar Bears Friday in a semi-final round.

Freshman Drew Hatfield led all scoring with 23 points to lead the Miners. Other players in double figures include Keshan Rhodes with 15, Cannan Fletcher with 12 and they held Jeremy Dillon to 11 points on the night.

For the Colts Austin Upton scored 16 points the only player in double figures.

Head Coach Kevin Hatfield praised his during the postgame press conference. “First half was the best half we played all season. Our guys were unselfish and played an overall great game.”

Mingo Central was 30 for 55 from the floor (55%) while Philip Barbour was 23 for 61 (38%).
